Preparation for Level 2 – RARPA Award. Course Title: Preparation for Level 2 – RARPA Award. Course description: This full-time course is supportive, enriching and creative - aimed at those who need support to progress to the next stage of their lives, or who have struggled before within traditional educational settings. On this our learners benefit from very small class sizes, supported work experience and potential mental health support – an exciting and unique pathway for those who have struggled in the past within education. Main Qualification purpose This programme is designed to help those who are between Level 1 and Level 2, it will give time for those who are apprehensive at working at level 2 but want to progress down that route. RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement. It is a tried and tested approach to ensuring the quality of non-accredited learning programmes and learning opportunities within a programme. We use this as a springboard into full qualifications once they young person is ready for accreditation. Subject area: Carpentry and joinery Furniture Making Painting and decorating Photography Work readiness Creative Crafts Course aims objectives The objectives of this course is to build confidence and allow individual the chance to move forward within education with confidence. There will be opportunities to study core skill qualifications but the main aim is to get individuals ready for study from an social and emotional level. Core Skills Functional skills English, Maths and ICT at Entry 3, Level 1 and 2 Hours per week: up to 16 Work Experience: Young people will have an opportunity to work within our retail outlet or work with us on our online shop. Duration: – 1 year but 2 years if needed subject to reviews EHCP: Also, for all young people with an ECHP will be assigned a 1:1 Mentor who will support them closely in achieving their outcomes, with an emphasis of helping them to see and realise the next step in their lives. The young person will be able to access a one-hour face to face session each week with their Mentor, who will review the progress of the young person, set new targets and stretch and challenge the young person to grow as an individual with confidence. The YP will be supported to exercise choice and control over their lives with emphasis on the four ‘preparing for adulthood’ outcomes:
