Course Title: KS4 - 4 core Elements
Course description: Our KS4 courses are supportive, enriching and creative, aimed at those who are at risk of exclusion. The young people will benefit from small class sizes, creating a learning environment that suits the needs of the individual. We work with the young person to identify their strengths and overcome their barriers, giving them sight of their potential. Within a unique environment, we encourage and develop aspirational thinking in each student, giving them confidence to think about their next steps into employment or further education and training.
A full programme can consist of 4 core elements – however, it is flexible enough that each individual can focus on the elements that best suit their needs and school timetables.
Functional Skills – English and maths
Supported Work Experience
Mental Health Support – Subject to suitability
Number of hours per week: 2-12 hours per week
Programme length: Yearly depending on time of start
Programme cost £10.27 PH
Application process for schools
Please complete the application form.
Once completed, we will arrange for the young person to come for visit and a formal chat.
No decision will be made on the day, contact detailing outcomes will be made with a start date and time via email.
For those who really struggle with confidence and new environments we would recommend just a site visit to start with which is less formal and reduces anxiety - this option is included on the application form
Application process for parents/carers
Those who are attending school, we advise that you contact school first and to see if this is a option for your child and if funding is available.
We are able to work with those who are between 14-16 and not enrolled at a school, please note fees apply.
Students attend an hour-long taster session in their core subject. This is to give the young person an opportunity to familiarise themselves with Synolos and the staff. After the taster, students then join a small group and are given a timetable and information pack.
For those with EHCPs it is important that have a copy of the EHCP in order for us to assess the needs of the young person and put into place any required additional support.
We require the completion of a service level agreement for all new school and parents we work with.
