Funding and Access
Different Destinations programmes at Synolos are typically supported through different funding routes, depending on the type of programme and the needs of the young person.
Education Funded Programmes
Destination 3 (Study Programmes) and Destination 4 (Employment Preparation Studies) can be funded through post-16 education funding.
These programmes focus on structured learning, vocational development, and preparation for employment.
Young people can usually access these programmes:
• Aged 16–18 without an EHCP
• Aged 16–24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
While many learners accessing these programmes have an EHCP, having an EHCP is not required for enrolment.
Social Care or Self-Funded Programmes - contact us for prices
Destination 1 (Outreach Support) and Destination 2 (Inreach Support) are most commonly supported through social care funding or self-funding arrangements.
These programmes focus on wellbeing, community engagement, and the development of independence outside of formal education settings.
Young people can typically access these programmes:
• Aged 18–29 through social care funding or self-funding
• Aged 16–24 where support is agreed through an EHCP
It should be noted that EHCP funding rarely covers Destination 1, as this programme is primarily designed as outreach support.
Similarly, while Destination 2 may sometimes be supported through an EHCP, it is more commonly funded through social care budgets.
Flexible Funding for Employment Preparation
Destination 4 (Employment Preparation Studies) may be funded through either education funding, social care funding, or self-funding, depending on the individual circumstances of the young person and the support required.
This flexibility allows the programme to support young people who are preparing for employment but who may require either educational provision or wider independence and transition support.
