Engagement work, ages 16- 19 - Those classed as NEET (Not in Education, Training or Employment)
Starting September 2016 - Subject to Funding
Each year we come into contact with many 16-19 years olds that are struggling with life in some kind of way. Often formal education is the last thing on their minds, as they need support to get back on track before they can fully focus on formal education or training. There are few state funded engagement funds but this work is much needed. Over the last few years we have been doing this work on a limited basis but now we want to expand it to a level that suites West Oxfordshire. If we can engage with more young people who are disengaged this will reduce youth disengagement and allow these talented young individuals the opportunity to improve their lives and build a future.
With this funding we will create one to one engagement class that allow individual grow at a pace that suits there needed while preparing them for further training
For £30,000 per year we will provide at least
10 FTE placement that can be used in a flexible way to meet the needs of the individual
Long term sustainability plan available on request which reduces funding needs over time as the project matures
Funding received to date: £0
